Our Instructors

Western Academy of Martial Arts Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Karate and other martial arts, and have attained a certain level of expertise that qualifies them as teachers and mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Brad White is the head instructor of the Western Academy of Martial Arts. Brad is assisted by a core group of dedicated black belt instructors.




Brad White - Chief Instructor & Owner, Western Academy of Martial Arts

Brad is originally from southern Ontario, and began his martial arts training there in 1986. He moved to British Columbia in 1992.

Brad became a member of the International Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karate Association in 1995. He has trained with Yagi Meitatsu Sensei since that time, travelling to Okinawa, Japan on seven occasions to train in the birthplace of traditional Karate.

He has also travelled to Rio de Janeiro for Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu training under Ricardo De La Riva.

Brad has owned and operated the Western Academy of Martial Arts since 1996. His proudest accomplishment has been to grade over 100 students to the Junior and Adult Black Belt levels.
